Humanity is long gone

There was a recent incident in Tamil Nadu that jolted almost everybody who watched it. I am sure there would have been a serious discussion on it in your families as soon as the clip was over. Yes, it is none other than the “dying movements of Sub inspector R Vetrivel that was caught on tape”. This police was assaulted by a group of gangsters who seem to be engaged in this act by some of the police’s foes( by hearsay, it is few of his close/distant relatives). To everybody’s shock, he is not the real target, he is just a mistaken identity of the assailants.

For someone who is unfamiliar with this incident. The video is truly disturbing.

Let us take a look at how he was helped in his dying moments

1. Ministers were standing still

Minister for Environment, Youth Welfare and Sports TPM Moideen Khan and Tamil Nadu Health Minister MRK Paneerselvam watched the death alive, and as far as the sources say they did not care to attempt immediate steps to help the dying cop.  As per the newspapers, they were so shaken and that stopped them from coming out and extending help. Meanwhile looks like they have given a call to the ambulance.

2. Press people & camera men were shooting it

Press men felt very happy to find something so interesting and they were very sure that their channels will be given a glance if this particular video clip was telecasted. Therefore, the press and the camera men were absolutely busy shooting the video as it is more important than saving or helping the man dying.

3. Public were wondering at the Ministers and Press men

As laymen, people who were watching the man bleeding were taken aback as to why none of the Ministers, Press or Police did not endeavour to give him at least the first aid that he required. Public proved to be a mere spectator again.

4. Security guards were duty-conscious

Security guards who came along with the Ministers were busy chasing the assailants. Today in Tamil Nadu, cops are very swift in reacting to the situations. They managed to chase the gangsters which they felt to be more important than the dying cop.

What seem to be their hurdles in helping the Cop?

1. A bomb that was lying next to him?

If that is the problem, why is there a lot of crowd around him? Why did the camera men get so close? As per the clipping there are few people who are trying to feed him with water, how is that possible if you are scared of bomb?

2.  He was bleeding heavily.

Come on, just because he was disgusting with the part of his leg collapsed and blood oozing out in liters he can not be left helpless. Can you see any accident were blood did not appear in the scene, or even if the cop is absolutely damaged or injured, that can not be a reason for anyone to leave him just like that.

3.  Worried of unnecessary trouble

Public behaved so dumb because they were scared of unnecessary trouble, is that a reason to see a cop dying?

The complete scenario would have given a different result had any one among the crowd made an initiation to lift the cop.  If this is the case of a cop, what would happen to a layman in the same scenario?

Humanity is long gone

Imagine friends, we had all opportunities to save/ at least help the cop, perhaps we did not. All men among those who watched the poor cop dying were physically good and were very much in a position to extend a helping hand but they did not. Does it mean that our mechanical lives have made us more of a robo killing the human within. Is this an indication stating that we have lost our ability to live and if this continues to happen won’t the whole world go blind to gruesome acts? Will our species survive if we continue to watch these without showing any emotion?
