Let us amaze at Darren Rowse’s blog “Problogger” together

Unlike Seth Godin’s blog, this is a blog which is not absolutely into affiliate marketing, may be at least it is not a blog  which is too focused in selling it’s own products. It looks like a perfect blog for me.

Let me tell you why. Problogger’s blog has a menu at the top of it. An usually seen home at the top on the left. The home page is too good in Problogger, too easy to navigate. The very front page just takes you to an impression that he is a professional and an experienced blogger. He has segregated his articles under the topics such as Featured post, recently at blog, weekly video post and the most inspiring “Popular at Problogger”. Popular at problogger has the best articles for fresh bloggers and newbies. The front page is so inspiring and is just so professionally designed providing a lot of options for the readers to look for the info that he/ she is looking for.

The next part “Blog” is just a category that takes you across a collection of articles for bloggers lined up. The next section is the “Forum” which can be accessed only if you are a part of the Problogger as a paid member, therefore let us forget this section. Darren Rowse’s “31 days to build a better blog” has reserved a nice special place in his blog. That comes under the section “workshop” of the menu. See it is a nice marketing that is done in this particular page with a short description initially and then follows the testimonies. Anyone will be urged to go for it for the way the testimonies are posted and for what the testimonials convey. You can also become an affiliate for this book. It is seriously so designed too good to be afforded.

The section “Book” of the menu is for another book from Problogger – Oh my God his books are just awe-inspiring and will you be surprised if I say I was pushed to the verge of buying it, but I will not go for it for the reason that the thrill of blogging lies in experimenting and finding things turning out in favour of it.

The next section “jobs” is very informative. If you do not have the mindset of an entrepreneur or no time to be alloted for your fulltime online business or if you are looking for an online job, you can visit problogger. They are coming up with a variety of jobs. If you want to hire someone you can advertise on Problogger for which you will be charged based on the duration of your ad. This is how the price goes

How does this job board price compare to others?

* Pro Blogger: $50 for 30 days
* 37signals Job Board: $300 for 30 days.
* CrunchBoard.com: $200 for 30 days.
* Monster.com: $395 for 60 days
* Career Builder: $385 for 60 days

It is really clearly mentioned why this section is alloted. User-friendly for both the job seekers and advertisers. He has a different sidebar altogether in the jobs section where the categories are focused to help people looking for online jobs.

Coming to the section “Make money” just another popular category in Problogger. It is a collection of articles to make money online using various money making ways such as blogging, affiliate program and so on.

How is he helping his readers to navigate across his site well?

At the end of almost every section of the menu (especially ones which are the categories) he has a list of related articles at the end. There are also recent posts in the sidebar and in addition tags to help research the blog more. At the end of the main page there is a section mentioning all the categories and it is very helpful to search the site.

How is he interacting with audience?

He has two separate sections dedicated on the menu describing his blog and who Darren Rowse is. Besides that he has allowed bloggers to contact him by providing a mail gateway so that anyone and everyone could get their doubts clarified with him. Apart from these he has kept the links of his social networks open for anyone to follow him. Unlike Seth Godin, Darren Rowse has not given repeated importance to the “subscription” thing as there only few areas which has his subscription buttons all over the site.

He is quite regular in honouring his readers by giving them prompt replies. In addition if he comes across reviews of his books or someone involved in affiliation of his products he encourages them by commenting on their blogs.

Affiliate marketing

He has totally allocated 4 different sections – 2 on the top (menu) two sections on the bottom of the home page. He is also encouraging the sales of his books through affiliate program and helps them promote his books.

He has a whole big section on the side bar which is full of relevant ads for someone who is visiting Problogger.

When it comes to publicising his blog, just like others I see few famous social network icons, and there are no big or open clues other than that.

“Thank you for your time & Have a great day”
